It’s Time To Jump Start Your Business with The LINC!

Today sees the launch of the LINC’s (Learning and Innovation Centre) at the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown (ITB) annual entrepreneurial competition ‘JumpStart 2014’.

Originally launched in 2010, JumpStart 2014 gives Irish entrepreneurs a unique opportunity to win a very real JUMP START to their business with a prize worth an incredible €25,000 including €10,000 cash!

This exclusive competition was launched today by an inspiring panel of judges including one of Ireland’s best known and liked entrepreneurs, Bobby Kerr; Cully and Sully’s Cullen Allen, John Farragher, AIB Regional Business Banking Manger, Oisin Geoghegan, Head of Local Enterprise at Local Enterprise Office Fingal and Declan Lyons, Technology Infrastructure Programme Manager, Enterprise Ireland.

Competition finalists will get the unique opportunity to present their ideas to this panel of judges with one coming out the winner of JumpStart 2014.

Bobby Kerr said of the competition, “I’m very excited about getting involved with JumpStart again this year. It is always inspiring to see such dedicated entrepreneurs. As well as the business, I always look at the person behind the business plan. Dedication, work ethic and commitment to the business can make all the difference”.

Interested applicants must meet set criteria:
• The business must be technology or knowledge based – competitive advantage could be due to the
existence of intellectual property.
• There is an intent to export if they are not already exporting
• The business plan includes substantial growth strengthening the economic impact of the business
within the region
• The applicant must be in business for less than two years

Financial support is key for all start-ups and those involved in the past have told us that the experience pitching their business through this competition has been invaluable to them when dealing with investors. Application forms can be downloaded from http://www.thelinc.ie/jumpstart with a closing date for applications of close at 5pm October 17th The short list of winners will be announced on October 27th with the JumpStart 2014 winner being announced on November 20th at the LINC. All applicants must submit a fully complete application form and agree to the terms and conditions terms and of the LINC and declare that all information submitted is correct and true.
