UPCOMING – Lean Six Sigma Green Belt – QQI award (formerly HETAC) Level 7 Certification

The Lean Six-sigma concept is a set of tools and methodologies that rely on a collaborative team effort to improve performance by systematically removing waste; it combines the ideas of lean principles (or lean manufacturing, the lean enterprise) and the analytical tools of Six Sigma to eliminate variation and waste in business or manufacturing processes.

This Certificate in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is suitable for employees who spend some of their time on process improvement teams or in analyzing and solving quality problems. Typical participants include managers, internal consultants, change agents, project managers and team leaders and should be working under the supervision of a Six Sigma Black Belt. The training provided on this programme provides participants with strong problem solving skills developed through the implementation of the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) model. Learning to use many of the Six Sigma problem solving methodologies and statistical tools will equip participants with valuable skills to effect meaningful change in their organisations.

This programme is accredited at Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications for 15 credits.

The programme is made up of three modules, modelled on the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control) paradigm underlying Six-sigma itself.  Two of the modules deliver the essential course content of the programme, the Lean Principles, the Six-sigma paradigm including the DMAIC structure, and then the statistical tools underlying these ideas, In the third module the learner implements this knowledge in an improvement project.
